This is Lana, your new DevOps team member
Lana is Artificial Intelligence to manage the operations of your AWS software stack.
Chat to Lana using your Slack channels in natural language, just as you would talk to a co-worker.
With Lana you don't need to remember slash commands and you don't need to know the exact CLI syntax. Just chat to Lana just as you would to any of your co-workers.
With Lana there is no context switching during a live incident. Lana will fetch all the relevant information and make it available to you and your co-workers without leaving Slack.
Lana doesn't just understand single line requests, Lana follows the conversation.
If you refer to the instances named 'PROD-search-20160318', as "the Search service", then Lana will learn that. Then you can simply ask Lana if there are any errors on the search service.
Lana will initially advise what changes to make to rectify issues, this is useful as Lana gets to know the finer detail of your stack, and as you get to know and trust Lana's recommendations.
As Lana becomes more familiar with your environment, you may want to give Lana a promotion. Lana will then ask for approval to make changes to your AWS resources.
Ultimately once Lana has become a valued member of your team, she can proactively make changes to mitigate potential issues she has seen before.
You can instruct Lana to run AWS commands on your behalf.
Lana will sanity check your requests just as a human co-worker would.
Lana learns from your AWS stack. Resource names, tags, metrics and usage patterns are all learning opportunities for Lana.
Just like a new co-worker, sometimes Lana may not understand your terminology. If you need to correct Lana, she will learn from this.
Lana has vast experience in working with Amazon CloudWatch, AWS Lambda and Amazon DynamoDB.
She is currently learning all about Amazon API Gateway, Amazon Kinesis Streams, Amazon S3, Amazon ECS, and Amazon EC2.
Many more AWS services will follow. Please get in touch if you have a particular service requirement, we're always interested to hear which services the community would like to use with Lana.
Try asking about your AWS stack. In this demo, Lana knows about DynamoDB, Lambda & CloudWatch metrics.
You could ask "What resources do I have?"
Or try, "Can you see any errors?"
We are currently running a private beta with a small number of customers. This beta only works with CloudWatch metrics, Lambda functions and DynamoDB. If you'd like to be considered for this, please drop us an email. info@lana.ai
If you'd like to be notified when Lana is generally available, please fill out your email address
For our initial beta customers the service is free.
Pricing for generally available is still being finalized. As a heads up; pricing will be based on the number of AWS services you require Lana to operate. Rest assured that Lana will be much more cost effective than employing a similarly skilled Ops engineer.
